At the Firm, Wangui is engaged in a broad-based legal practice encompassing civil and commercial litigation, employment and labour relations matters, family law, succession, and constitutional law. She advises clients across a wide range of legal issues and is actively involved in the preparation and conduct of matters from inception through resolution. Wangui is recognised for her strong legal research skills, precision in drafting, and ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical advice. She approaches legal problems with both technical rigour and strategic foresight, paying close attention to facts, evidence, and long-term implications for clients. Her work reflects a disciplined respect for legal process combined with an appreciation of the human and commercial realities underlying disputes.
A defining aspect of Wangui’s professional outlook is her interest in how law responds to technological change and evolving social realities. She is particularly focused on issues relating to cyber law, digital compliance, data protection, and the protection of rights in online environments. This perspective informs her advisory work and contributes to the Firm’s engagement with contemporary legal challenges affecting individuals, businesses, and institutions.
Wangui is also actively involved in legal thought leadership and advocacy. She regularly writes and publishes commentary on emerging legal issues, including cybercrime, digital rights, governance, and developments in Kenyan jurisprudence. Her writing reflects a humanitarian and people-centred approach to law, emphasising that legal frameworks must evolve in ways that protect human dignity, equality, privacy, and access to justice.
In addition, Wangui is a member of the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Kenya), where she contributes to advocacy and policy discussions on technology-facilitated gender-based violence, women’s rights, and digital safety. Through this work, she supports initiatives aimed at strengthening legal and policy responses to emerging harms in digital spaces and advancing the protection of fundamental rights.
Beyond her legal practice, Wangui values curiosity, balance, and community. She enjoys trivia, board games, dancing, outdoor activities, and creative spaces that foster intellectual engagement and authentic connection. She believes that a well-rounded perspective strengthens professional judgment and enhances the quality of legal service delivered to clients.
Wangui holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Cybercrime, Cybersecurity and International Law, awarded with Distinction (9.01/10), from the University for Peace (UPEACE) in collaboration with the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI).
